SUMMARY:Reinventing Customer Service in Healthcare
DESCRIPTION:Consumer-driven services in business and the need for efficiency are accelerating changes in the way organizations operate and compete. Many consumers today are taking greater control of their purchasing power and healthcare decisions and are demanding excellence in service. The challenge is how to give them the best service in a meaningful and economic way. Organizational survival relies on healthcare leaders with the vision\, determination and courage to test various methods of enhancing the patient experience. Patient expectations are being set by other industries; for example\, the airline industry\, in which Southwest Airlines is the only airline that has turned in profitable years for 33 consecutive years\, consistently achieved the best on-time performance\, received the fewest customer complaints and fewest mishandled bags\, is consistently cited for the best customer service\, the smartest management and as the most fun place to work. Can the principles from a culture like Southwest Airlines help healthcare win the hearts and minds of their employees? \nAgenda \n5:00 -5:15 – Event & speaker introduction \n5:15 -6:15 – Speakers Present \n6:15 – 6:30 – Speaker Q & A \nQualified Education Credit Hours: 1.5 \nAs an independent chartered chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives\, the West Florida Chapter\, is authorized to award a total of 1.5 hours of ACHE Qualified Education credits toward advancement or recertification in the American College of Healthcare Executives. SUMMARY:Understanding Implicit Bias and its Impact on Healthcare Leadership
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, January 10\, 2023 \nThe communities for which healthcare organizations operate are rapidly diversifying. Not only do they provide care for a diverse community of patients and families\, but their workforce is also growing more diverse. It is incumbent on healthcare organizations and their leaders to both understand and embrace the needs of diverse populations. Their ability to respond to the needs and preferences of a broader customer base will be critical to their financial and operational survival\, but they first must understand what their implicit biases are to do that. The goal of the session is for leaders to understand and recognize internal biases both conscious and unconscious. This new program will focus on the healthcare leader’s personal recognition of internal bias and its impact on decisions in the organization. The impact of the healthcare leaders’ ability to recognize biases in areas such as employment and policy decision making will lead to increased diversity in individuals holding leadership positions and will help us better serve the communities we are in. \nEarn 1.5 Face-to-Face Credit Hours \nTo purchase your ticket\, go to https://www.eventbrite.com/e/understanding-implicit-bias-and-its-impact-on-healthcare-leadership-tickets-480462404987 \nAgenda\n5:00-5:30PM: Networking & Dinner \n5:30-7:00PM: Panel discussion \n– Dr. Vyron Folds\, Division Director of Diversity\, Equity and Inclusion for HCA Healthcare’s West Florida Division \n– Jazleen Vecchiarelli\, Manager of Diversity\, Equity\, and Inclusion for BayCare Health System \n– Dr. Shanelle Rae\, Director of Diversity\, Equity and Inclusion for Tampa General Hospital \n– Dr. Desiree Chachula\, Director of Diversity\, Equity and Inclusion for Moffitt Cancer Center \nModerator \nDr. Vyron Folds\, Division Director of Diversity\, Equity and Inclusion for HCA Healthcare’s West Florida Division \nVyron Folds currently serves as the Division Director of Diversity\, Equity and Inclusion for HCA Healthcare’s West Florida Division. SUMMARY:ACHE WFC Behavioral Healthcare: Approaches to Increase Value
DESCRIPTION:**This is a VIRTUAL event. If you purchased your Eventbrite ticket & completed your registration with the link provided to you for ACHE National\, you received a Zoom link in your e-mail. Please check your spam/junk folders. The e-mail is from Blue Sky or ACHE itself. Passcode is ACHE for the event with your unique Zoom link. You must fully attend the event and complete the evaluation on ACHE.org in order to receive F2F credit.** \nHistorically\, hospitals and health systems have not always embraced a role in meeting behavioral health needs in communities because managing behavioral healthcare and mental health is very complex. According to the National Alliance of Mental Illness approximately 1 in 5 adults in the U.S.—43.8 million\, or 18.5%—experiences mental illness in a given year. The rate of youth with severe depression increased from 5.9% in 2012 to 8.2% in 2015. Nearly half (45 percent) of those with any mental disorder also meet criteria related to having a physical illness or substance abuse. Physical health and mental health issues occur together. For example\, people with diabetes or cardiac conditions often develop depression as well. Being able to receive treatment for both conditions through an integrated behavioral health and primary care setting can be especially helpful since how we live our lives (behave) and our physical and mental health all interact with each other in complex ways. \nTo purchase your ticket\, use the following link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/355559176067 \nAgenda \n9:00 – 9:15 – Event & speaker introduction \n9:15 -10:15 – Speakers Present \n10:15 – 10:30 – Speaker Q & A \nVirtual Face-to-Face Credit Hours: 1.5 \n** Upon Eventbrite Ticket Purchase\, you will be directed to ACHE National’s website to COMPLETE your Registration. SUMMARY:ACHE WFC Presents: Leading a Culture of Safety: A Blueprint for Success Virtual Event
DESCRIPTION:Lead and Reward a Just Culture and Establish Organizational Behavior Expectations \n \n\n\nMedical errors are the third leading cause of death in the United States at 220\,000 to 440\,000 people dying each year from preventable errors according to the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention. To help healthcare leaders achieve total system safety across the continuum\, ACHE\, and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement/National Patient Safety Foundation Lucian Leape Institute developed a guide “Leading a Culture of Safety: A Blueprint for Success”.
