DESCRIPTION:To help healthcare leaders achieve total system safety across the continuum\, ACHE\, and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement/National Patient Safety Foundation Lucian Leape Institute developed a guide “Leading a Culture of Safety: A Blueprint for Success”. This Blueprint is designed to help leaders shape\, create and sustain the type of organizational culture needed to ensure patient and workforce safety and inspire healthcare leaders on the journey to zero harm. Her early nursing career was focused in medical surgical and oncology nursing where she advanced in leadership to an Associate Vice Present of Nursing. Ms. Campbell’s later career led her into Finance and Quality. She has dedicated the last decade of her career to Quality and Safety earning a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from the American Society of Quality. \nMs. Campbell is currently employed at BayCare Health System as a Regional Quality Director where she is responsible for accreditation\, patient safety\, quality\, and process improvement activities. The role aligns with her commitment for transparency\, continuous learning\, quality\, and zero harm. \nDavid Isaacks\, FACHE \nDavid Isaacks was appointed Executive Network Director of the VA Sunshine Healthcare Network (VISN 8) October 9th\, 2022. He previously served as Executive Director at the North Florida / South Georgia Veterans Health System in Gainesville\, Fl.\, Executive Director at the Kansas City VA Medical Center in Kansas City\, Mo.\, and Executive Director for the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans’ Hospital in Columbia\, Mo.\, Mr. Isaacks joined the VA in 2006 and has served in several other leadership roles including deputy network director for both the VA Sunshine Healthcare Network in St. Petersburg\, Fla.\, and the VA Heartland Network in Kansas City\, Mo. He also served as director of the VA Central Plaines Consolidated Patient Account Center in Leavenworth\, Kan. \nMr. Isaacks is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives\, VHA Certified Mentor\, an Excellence in Government Senior Fellow\, a graduate of the Walter and Leonore Annenberg Leadership Institute – Class of 2008\, the 19th Annual Prince Williams Regional Chamber of Commerce Valor Award winner from 2005\, a 2003 U.S. Marine Corps Institute Graduate\, and a certified LEAN Black Belt. David is a nationally recognized expert on High Reliability and culture change. Most recently Mr. Isaacks was recognized in October 2022 with the Meritorious Presidential Rank Award\, March 2021 with the ACHE VA Regents Senior Healthcare Award and also recognized in July 2021 with the Ninth Annual Secretary’s Diversity & Inclusion Excellence Award. Additionally\, Isaacks is a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. \nGary Josephson\, MD\, MBA\, CPE \nDr. Gary Josephson is a physician\, researcher\, educator\, and author. He is a Pediatric otolaryngologist\, experienced healthcare executive\, and held academic rank of Professor at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and the University of South Florida College of Medicine. He has published more than 60 peer reviewed publications in the medical literature\, has edited a medical textbook titled Complications in pediatric otolaryngology\, and has developed several instruments used in clinical practice today His recently released self-help book “Ordinary to Extraordinary: Seven Principles for Life Success” was a top 5 title sales by publication date as noted by Morgan James Publishing. Dr. Josephson has been named in “Jacksonville’s Best Surgeons in the City” and listed in “Castle Connelly” and “Best Doctors in America”. He was the medical correspondent for a local newspaper when he lived in Manhattan. His column included health and wellness tips and facts to improve well-being. Dr. Josephson currently works for Lee Health’s Golisano Children’s Hospital of South-West Florida. \nOn a personal note\, Dr. Josephson enjoys nature\, outdoor activities\, and staying physically fit. His greatest passion is spending time with his wife Patricia\, a pediatrician\, and their two children\, Samantha and Grayson. \nSanjiv Tewari\, MD\, FCCP \nDr. Sanj Tewari joined Blake Hospital as Chief Medical Officer on June 1\, 2023. \nDr. Tewari is board certified in pulmonary disease\, critical care medicine\, neurocritical care\, and sleep medicine\, and he has master’s degree in law. He was the president of a large pulmonary and critical care group and a hospitalist group and joined Cleveland Clinic\, where he served as chairman of medicine and as a medical director over the south region of Ohio in the respiratory institute. Most recently\, Dr. Tewari was director of the intensive care unit and center director for medical specialties at another Cleveland clinic site in Florida. He has published many articles and book chapters and he is passionate about medical education. David Mica (Moderator) David Mica\, Jr.\, J.D.\, Executive Vice President\, Public Affairs\, Florida Hospital Association David Mica Jr. is the Executive Vice President of Public Affairs with the Florida Hospital Association. David oversees the association’s government relations\, grassroots initiatives\, and public affairs advocacy at the state and federal level. Previously\, David was with the Florida Department of Children and Families\, where he served as Chief of Staff overseeing the transformational work the agency had undertaken over 2018 – 2020. David led Volunteer Florida as CEO during Hurricane Michael recovery efforts. David received his undergraduate degree at the University of Florida and continued his academic studies at Florida State University College of Law; he is currently a member of the Florida Bar. Keri Eisenbeis Keri Eisenbeis is the Chief of Staff at BayCare Health System\, a leading not-forprofit organization comprised of 16 hospitals and hundreds of other locations throughout Tampa Bay and central Florida regions. Eisenbeis leads government relations\, community benefit\, research\, grants\, and communications. Since joining BayCare in 2009\, she has helped elevate BayCare’s role in the community through advocacy of important health policy priorities\, as well as launching targeted community health improvement efforts. Prior to her current position\, Eisenbeis was the director of government relations\, ambulatory care and advocacy at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital. In this position\, she helped implement legislative agendas for the hospital and served as the primary advocate for children’s health care issues in Tallahassee and Washington\, DC. Before joining BayCare\, Eisenbeis served as the deputy director for Congresswoman Kathy Castor (D-FL) working on health policy\, federal appropriations and grants. Eisenbeis has also worked as a senior adviser for the United States Agency for International Development\, a special assistant for the Office of Management and Budget and a researcher for the Brookings Institution. She also served as a consultant for multiple international development projects. Eisenbeis completed a bachelor’s degree in international relations at Emory University and a master of law at Washington University in St. Louis\, School of Law. She also completed a post-graduate international relations program at University of St. Andrews in Scotland\, where she was a Robert T. Jones Scholar. She sits on several local boards\, including Metropolitan Ministries\, the Athena Society\, and the Family Healthcare Foundation. Michael A. Nachef Michael joined Lee Health in July of 2016 and has been a member of the Southwest Florida community for more than two decades. Michael is most proud of being husband to Felicia and father to Chloe\, Charlotte\, Reagan\, and Lincoln! Michael is the Vice President of Government Relations for Lee Health. He is a health system leader and experienced advocate who works closely with elected officials and their staff on the local\, state\, and federal levels of government. This work is focused on policy and funding issues that impact healthcare delivery and cost for Southwest Florida residents. Michael has over six years of experience working in Florida State government. As a Legislative Assistant with the Florida Senate\, he helped to craft legislation and move it through the legislative process. Prior to his work in the Florida Senate\, he worked with the office of the University President at Florida Gulf Coast University. Michael earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science\, cum laude\, from Florida Gulf Coast University. Michael is Chair of the Big Brothers Big Sister of the Suncoast Corporate Board of Directors. He is the immediate past Chair of the Florida Gulf Coast University Alumni Board of Directors and served on the FGCU Foundation Board. He is a graduate of College Leadership Florida and an active member of the Leadership Florida organization. He was appointed by the Governor to serve on the Florida Greenways and Trails Council and served from 2019 to 2022. Michael also serves on the Sanibel Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors as Secretary and Treasurer. Michael was recognized as one of the News Service of Florida’s 40 Under 40 Rising Stars in the Sunshine State in 2024. He won the inaugural Naples and Lee Herald Young Professional of the Year Award in 2016 and was named as one of the 40 under 40 by the Naples Herald in 2017. Jonathan Chapman Jonathan Chapman currently serves as President and CEO of the Florida Association of Community Health Centers (FACHC). Having joined FACHC in late 2022\, he leads a dynamic team as it supports Florida’s community health centers as they navigate the health care\, political\, and financial environments. Addressing primary care\, dental\, behavioral health\, and numerous other medical and supporting services these centers serve over 1.8 patients through 800+ service locations across the state. Previously\, Mr. Chapman was Chief Project Officer with Capital Link\, a community health center training and technical assistance partner. There he led the organization’s project consultants in capital development and operational analyses with community health centers. He also has experience as the CEO of the Louisiana Primary Care Association\, program manager in the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals (Medicaid)\, and pharmacy management in both retail and hospital settings. She is responsible for the laboratory testing and operations provided at Florida Cancer Specialists’ network of clinics\, as well as the operations of the 20\,000 square foot Central Laboratory in Fort Myers. In addition to her professional duties\, Nicole is a Director-at-Large for the ACHE WFC Chapter and the Regent-at-Large for ACHE’s District 2. \nShe describes herself as an “ACHE-fanatic”\, and believes not only in the power and advantages of ACHE membership\, but also that everyone plays a part in making ACHE the great professional organization that it is. Prior to moving from Northern Illinois\, Nicole was very active in volunteer service to ACHE\, including being a member of the D&I committee (2016-2021)\, the chair of the Education Committee (2017-2021)\, and a Director (2019-2021) for the Central IL ACHE chapter. She and her husband live in Fort Myers\, and she’s the proud mom of 2 adult children. \nKaren Valatis Ed.D (Resumes vs. CVs) – Clinical Assistant Profressor\, Health Sciences and Administration\, University of West Florida \nKaren Valaitis is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of West Florida (UWF) teaching in both the undergraduate and graduate level programs in healthcare administration. She teaches courses such as Understanding U.S. Health Care\, Health Care Administration\, Medical Terminology\, Strategic Planning in Healthcare\, Quality Improvement in Healthcare\, Healthcare Delivery Systems\, and the MHA Capstone. Dr. Valaitis gained healthcare management and practice experience at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland\, Ohio\, where she worked for 20 years. At the Cleveland Clinic\, she worked as the administrator for cardiovascular research\, orthopedic surgery\, neurosurgery\, and neurology. Later\, she became the commercialization officer for neurosurgery and neurology\, overseeing the department’s intellectual property portfolio. Before coming to UWF\, she also worked in healthcare administration at the Ohio State University Medical Center and in executive search for health care programs in higher education. She is an active member of Advent Health’s Medical Ethics Committee and has worked with the Florida State Bar Association\, the Hillsborough County Bar Association\, the 13th Judicial Circuit\, and the Florida Department of Health. \nJoshua (Jojo) G. Dyachim\, M.Th\, HECC\, BCC \nJojo Dyachim currently serves as the Director of Mission and Ethics for BayCare Health System in West Central Florida. He is originally from Nigeria. \nHe bagged a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and a master’s degree in theology from Urban University\, Rome. He completed a post-bachelor’s degree in biomedical science at the University of South Florida. He is currently pursuing a doctorate degree at Loyola University Chicago in Health Care Mission Leadership with specialization in clinical and organization ethics. He is a Certified Healthcare Ethics Consultant (HEC-C) with the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities and Board Certified Chaplain with the National Association of Catholic Chaplains. \nHe is an avid supporter of Chelsea Football Club\, London and enjoys reading\, cooking\, dancing and outdoor time at the beach. \nDr. Terri Ashmeade\, MD \nTerri Ashmeade\, MD\, is a Professor of Pediatrics in the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine and a neonatologist in the Jennifer Leigh Muma NICU at Tampa General Hospital. She is also the Chief Medical Officer for USFTGP. Her experience in NICUs and her active roles in defining best standards for patient safety helped pave the way for the Chief Medical Officer position\, a job that aims to elevate quality care and patient safety across USF’s hospital partners and inpatient and outpatient facilities. \nAngela Blackburn\, PhD\, APRN\, NNP-BC \nAngela Blackburn\, Ph.D.\, APRN\, NNP-BC\, Associate Professor is an experienced advanced practice nurse\, nurse leader\, and educator. She teaches in the graduate program at the School of Nursing at the University of West Florida. Dr. Blackburn is a certified neonatal nurse practitioner. She earned her Ph.D. in Nursing (Ethics Specialization) from the University of Southern Mississippi. Her areas of research interest include caring science\, worksite wellness\, ethics\, and qualitative research methods (narrative research and arts-based research). She is a HeartMath® trainer. She completed the Watson Caring Science Caritas Coach Education Program® (CCEP) to advance the philosophies\, theories\, and educational-clinical-research practices of Caring Science in 2021. Dr. Blackburn completed the Watson Caring Science Postdoctoral Scholar Program in Boulder\, Colorado in 2022-2023. As part of this program\, she participated in a one-year exclusive personal study with renowned nurse theorist Dr. Jean Watson to expand her knowledge of caring science and the theory of human caring. Dr. Blackburn is a member of the Ascension Gulf Coast Ethics Integration Committee. She served 10 years on the University of West Florida Institutional Review Board (Committee Chair 2020-2022). She holds leadership positions on the board of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing\, Upsilon Kappa Chapter.

Her work is centered on enhancing BayCare’s Service Lines and creating a streamlined system of care that provides the right care\, at the right time\, in the right location\, and at the right cost. \nEmily has extensive experience in clinical governance\, physician organization and care delivery site operations\, service line leadership\, business growth and development\, value-based care\, and performance improvement. She has a passion for partnering with providers to enhance the quality and efficiency of patient care. Prior to her time at BayCare\, Emily spent eight years in Texas at Memorial Hermann Health System (MHHS) in Houston and Baylor Scott & White Health System in Dallas. She served in progressive positions as the Vice President\, Clinical Integration\, Vice President\, Clinical Transformation and Vice President\, Accountable Care Organization\, including administrative leadership of Hospital Based Providers. During her tenure\, MHHS saved over 100 million dollars through clinical care redesign. Prior to MHHS\, Emily served six years in progressive leadership positions\, at Saint Luke’s Health System in Kansas City\, Missouri. A native of Independence\, Missouri\, Emily graduated with honors from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and earned a Master of Health Administration from the Ohio State University in Columbus\, Ohio. She completed her Administrative Fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville\, Tennessee. Emily is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. She resides in Tampa\, Florida with her husband\, Aaron\, and six-year-old twins\, Violet and Henry. \nDr. Mark Moseley \nDr. Mark G. Moseley joined USF Health in January 2017 as USF Health’s Chief Medical Officer. He was subsequently named as USF Health’s Chief Clinical Officer\, and in this role helped to oversee the day-to-day operations of the USF Health faculty practice plan until May 2022. Since April 2022\, he has served as the first President of USF Tampa General Physicians\, a role he was selected for via competitive national search. As President\, he leads the integration of the Tampa General Hospital and USF physician practice infrastructure; leading ~1\,600 team members and supporting the practices of over 1\,000 clinicians. Dr. Moseley is a system Executive Vice President at TGH\, a Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Morsani College of Medicine\, and a courtesy Professor in the College of Public Health. \nDr. Moseley is an Ohio native and alumni of the Ohio State University Colleges of Medicine Public Health. He was the first dual-degree graduates of OSU’s combined five-year MD\, Master of Health Administration program. He completed a residency in Emergency Medicine at Christiana Care in Wilmington Delaware\, serving as chief resident in his final year of training. He subsequently returned to Ohio State as an academic faculty member in Emergency Medicine and for the next 12 years held progressive leadership roles as Medical Director of the Emergency Department and Vice-Chairman in the Department of Emergency Medicine. His final senior leadership role at OSU was as the health system’s Assistant Chief Operating Officer. \nDr. Moseley is the recipient of numerous teaching awards for trainees in medicine and public health at both the Ohio State University and the University of South Florida. He was voted by Columbus\, Ohio Business First as a city-wide 40 under 40 awardee in 2010. In 2013\, he was awarded the OSU College of Medicine Innovation Award for conceiving\, designing\, and implementing the After-Hours Clinics model of care. He is also the recipient of the OSU Department of Emergency Medicine’s Distinguished Service Award. He currently serves as a national member of the Business Advisory Committee for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. \nKelly Batista \nKelly Batista is the Executive Director of the Brian D. Jellison Cancer Institute for Sarasota Memorial Health Care System in Sarasota\, Florida. Working in a dyad-leadership model with the Institute’s Chief Medical Director\, Mrs. Batista is responsible for the strategic development and operational oversight of the Jellison Cancer Institute\, including physician alignment and recruitment\, programmatic expansion and implementation\, and the design and construction of multiple new cancer care facilities. \nIn prior leadership roles at Sarasota Memorial\, Mrs. Batista oversaw multiple ambulatory care facilities and service areas including outpatient ancillary services\, and rehabilitation and cardiopulmonary programs. \nShe serves on the Board of the Western Florida Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives\, holding various leadership roles since 2014 including as Chapter President. In support of future healthcare leaders\, Mrs. Batista participates on the University of South Florida MHA Advisory Board. She also serves on the Southwest Florida Advisory Board for the American Cancer Society. \nSteven Chew \nSteven Chew currently serves as the Vice President of Service Lines at Tampa General Hospital (TGH)\, a 1\,040 bed Academic Medical Center affiliated with the University of South Florida (USF) Health Morsani College of Medicine\, and serves as the only Level 1 Trauma Center for West Central Florida. \nAs the VP of Services Lines\, Steven’s primary role is leading the Administrative dyads of TGH’s 15+ Service Lines. In this structure\, the Administrators work collaboratively with his/her Medical Director counterparts to develop\, execute\, and promote strategic and operational imperatives specific to their Service Lines / Institutes. Focusing on quality\, outcomes\, patient access\, innovative technology\, Team Member and Provider engagement\, and financial stability\, TGH’s Service Line structure has been pivotal to the continued expansion and market growth throughout the region. Serving over 15 years of his over 20 year healthcare career at TGH\, Steven has worked in a variety of departments and leadership roles. These include Materials Management\, Surgical Services Operations\, Hospital Operations\, Quality\, and Strategic Services. \nSteven holds a degree in Biology and Organic Chemistry from Rutgers University and a Master’s Degree in Health Administration from USF. Disparities in care persist\, especially among uninsured individuals\, low-income families\, racial and ethnic minorities\, and LGBTQ+ populations. The Affordable Care Act aimed to tackle access and equity issues by expanding health insurance coverage\, but gaps remain. These gaps alter healthcare delivery and financing. Equity in care is fundamental to healthcare management\, both ethically and commercially. Organizations must educate staff on disparities to address diverse patient needs effectively. Patient-centered care enhances clinical outcomes and satisfaction while reducing errors and costs. There will be a cash bar for those intersted). \n  \nIndra Sandal\, Ph.D.\, M.B.A.\, Chief of Innovation\, Tampa VA Medical Center\, National Lead\, VHA-Uber Health Connect Initiative – Moderator \nDr. Indra Sandal is the Chief of Innovation at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital & Clinics in Tampa\, FL. She has a wide portfolio that includes collaborations with the VHA Innovation Ecosystem (VHAIE)\, academic and community partners\, and national innovation leaders. \nDr. Sandal has 15+ years of experience leading transformational programs and innovation initiatives across academic\, non-profit\, and federal sectors. From 2019 – 2022\, Dr. Sandal served as the Director of Innovation at the Memphis VA Medical Center and has held several prominent national and local facility innovation roles with VHAIE. From 2020-2022\, Dr. Sandal was selected as the VHA Entrepreneur-in-Residence and Executive Management Fellow where she spearheaded the VHA-Uber Health Connect (VUHC) Initiative in 2022. The VUHC Initiative is a collaborative effort between the VHAIE\, the Veteran Transportation Program\, and Uber Health. The initiative offers rideshare as a supplemental transportation option for Veterans to get to and from their medical appointments and has offered over 145K rides to nearly 25\,000 Veterans across 68 VA Medical Centers since January 2022. Since the beginning of the pilot\, the VUHC Initiative has achieved over $111M in cost savings for VA from faster emergency and inpatient discharges and avoiding no-show/missed appointments. \nBefore joining VA\, Dr. Sandal also held prominent research roles including Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City\, UT from 2011-2014\, and Research Assistant at Virginia Tech from 2005-2011. Her genetics and genomic research outcomes included 17 secured patents\, 14 peer reviewed journal publications as lead author\, 3 book chapters\, and over 50 conference presentations worldwide. \nDr. Sandal currently serves as a faculty member for Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Catalyst program. Dr. Sandal has an M.B.A. from Northwestern University-Kellogg School of Management\, a Ph.D. in Biotechnology from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research Institute\, India\, and an M.S. in Life Sciences from Kanpur University\, India. \nDr. Sandal is a recipient of the 2023 Service to the Citizen Award\, an award that recognizes public servants who demonstration excellence in their delivery of services that impact the public’s lives. She is also the recipient of the 2023 Dr. Robert L. Jesse Award for Excellence in Innovation for her outstanding work with the VUHC Initiative. She has 19 years of Federal Service\, including service in the United States Army. She aspires to unleash the full potential of her team by creating a healthy work environment that allows team members to reach their full potential in service to Veterans Health Administration (VHA). She has oversight of multiple VHA programs that focus on social determinants of health to promote health care equity for Veterans. \n  \nTricia Penniecook\, MD\, MPH\, Vice Dean for Faculty and Global Affairs\, University of South Florida\, College of Public Health \nTricia Penniecook has over 25 years’ experience as an academic leader\, educator\, public health administrator\, physician\, executive coach and change strategist. She is an expert in accreditation\, having served as site visit member and chair as well as national board member of the Council for Education in Public Health. Her experience as Interim Vice President for Diversity\, Equity and Inclusion and Vice Dean for Education and Faculty Affairs at the University of South Florida\, serve as a platform for her purpose: being a trusted advisor for women of color who are leaders in academia. \nShe graduated from Medicine and Public Health from Universidad de Montemorelos\, Mexico. She has worked in Public Health Practice as County Health Director\, State Health Director and Epidemiologist in the Ministry of Health in Costa Rica\, as adviser to the President and CEO of Costa Rica’s National Health Care System and Director of the National Center for Strategic Development and Research. She became the first Afrolatina Dean of the School of Public Health at Loma Linda University\, leading the school to be among the first to adopt the new Framework for Public Health Education\, with emphasis on Health Equity\, a global presence and a faith-based foundation. She also served as Vice-President of Academic Administration at Oakwood University\, an HBCU in Alabama. \nShe has been the Vice-Dean for Education\, Faculty and Global Affairs\, University of South Florida\, College of Public Health for six years. She provided strategic leadership for all academic\, educational\, student and faculty related matters within the College till January 2023. After serving as Interim Vice President for Diversity\, Equity and Inclusion at the University of South Florida\, she returned to the College of Public Health as Vice Dean for Faculty and Global Affairs and Chair of the CEPH reaccreditation process. \nShe is the President and CEO of BossStar Leadership Solutions\, an organization created for Women of Color in Higher Education to prevent\, manage and overcome burnout. It is in this role that she designs and leads workshops in health and higher education institutions. She is a Certified Executive Coach\, providing group and individual coaching to women who are or aspire to be executive leaders. \nShe served as Co-host of Pink Room Live\, the webcast arm of 4RealWomen International\, an organization that works towards the empowerment of Girls and Women in North and Latin America and the Caribbean. She is no stranger to starting over and leading change\, and believes that women need to be empowered with knowledge\, skills and opportunities to step confidently into their life’s purpose. \n  \nSelynto R. Anderson\, Ph.D.\, Chief Equity and Inclusion Officer\, Lee Health \nSelynto R. Anderson\, Ph.D.\, joined Lee Health in September 2022 as Chief Equity & Inclusion Officer and is responsible for championing\, developing\, executing and overseeing Lee Health’s social inclusion and equity strategy and programs. Prior to joining Lee Health\, Dr. Anderson served as VP Community Health & Health Equity/Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer at Self-Regional Healthcare in Greenwood\, S.C.\, where he spent the first 15+ years of his career and held various positions. He started as a community health educator and grew into management and other key leadership roles\, including manager of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation & transitional rehabilitation\, director of occupational health services and director of community prevention and wellness services. Some of his career accomplishments include: leading an initiative to implement social determinants of health into the electronic health record to proactively monitor and track aspects of population health; grant writing that resulted in the implementation of a Screening\, Brief Intervention\, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) substance abuse program; developed policies and procedures around population health management that included health outcomes and patterns of development; and designed a Community Health Needs Assessment and Implementation Strategy that addressed health disparities\, health equity and the social determinants of health. Dr. Anderson earned his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and a master’s degree in Education from Anderson University in Anderson\, S.C. He also earned a doctorate in public health from Walden University in Minneapolis\, holds a certificate in diversity management in health care from the American Hospital Association and was a Thomas C. Physical health and mental health issues occur together. For example\, people with diabetes or cardiac conditions often develop depression as well. Being able to receive treatment for both conditions through an integrated behavioral health and primary care setting can be especially helpful since how we live our lives (behave) and our physical and mental health all interact with each other in complex ways. \nUltimately\, the goals of behavioral health interventions are similar to those of other primary care treatment: helping people function so they can lead healthier\, fuller lives. Receiving both behavioral health and primary care treatment in one integrated setting can help people continue to work or attend school\, to engage with their families\, to participate in their communities\, and to be able to thrive. Managing co-morbidities can lead to an increase in cost and potentially a decrease in reimbursement. It is noted that with current workforce challenges\, there is a shortage of mental healthcare providers (psychiatrists\, psychologists\, social workers\, counselors\, and psychiatric nurses). Heather also worked as an Inpatient and Outpatient Licensed Mental Health Therapist at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital specializing in the provision of trauma-focused treatment for children\, adolescent\, and adults. Heather also spent time serving as a Senior Behavioral Analyst for the Department of Juvenile Justice and as an Outpatient Therapist for the Veterans Administration providing treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. \nShe also serves as Director-At-Large for the North Florida Chapter of the ACHE and is an active board member of Big Bend Cares which provides services and treatments for individuals and families with HIV/AIDS diagnoses. \nHeather is passionate about contributing to the mission of service organizations that improve the lives of members of the community through enhancing access to equitable healthcare and serves on multiple boards of directors. Heather is dedicated to expanding healthcare operations through collaborations and strategic development of programming with proven outcomes. \nTerry Cassidy\, LCSW\, MAC \nTerry Cassidly is the Executive Director of Behavioral Health Services at Sarasota Memorial Health Care System for the past since years. She has 25+ years of leadership experience in the administration of behavioral health & addiction services including inpatient\, outpatient\, and non-profit community-based services. Terry previously served as the Executive Director of Behavioral Health Services for Tenet Healthcare’s New England market. She was recognized by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for her leadership in improving the social welfare of citizens in central Massachusetts. For more than 20 years\, she has served as a consultant for the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)\, the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Terry received her master’s degree in social work from Boston University. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and is nationally certified as a Master Addiction Counselor. \nAnthony Santucci\, MSN\, RN \nAnthony Santucci is the Director of Behavioral Health for Acute Care Services-BayCare Health System. With a total of 26 years of experience working with a Behavioral Health patient population\, Anthony brought his experience and expertise to BayCare Behavioral Health in 2011. Anthony is responsible for day-to-day business operations\, clinical programs\, compliance with all governing agency regulations\, strategic planning for growth and development of all BayCare Behavioral Health Inpatient Programs and psychiatric emergency departments which consists of 348 inpatient beds located within seven hospitals. Anthony developed the vision for BayCare’s newest and most innovative behavioral health program\, the Unit for Psychiatry and Medical Services (UPM). This is a state-of-the-art twenty-four bed adult inpatient acute care psychiatric treatment program that provides acute mental health services to a patient population that has both medical and psychiatric comorbidities. Anthony led each phase of the project including project development\, project design and the construction phase with a forward facing and forward-thinking approach. This program is one of a kind and has been nationally recognized by mental health stakeholders across the country. Anthony serves on the National Association of Behavioral Healthcare steering committee on Behavioral Health Services within General Healthcare Systems. Anthony is also an active member of the National Harbor Performance Initiative for Behavioral Health leading the development of a national acuity case index tool. Anthony is a proud graduate of Leadership Tampa 2020- the Strongest Class Ever! He stays engaged with Leadership Tampa Alumni group and loves to participate annually in the LT Health Care Day planning committee. \nJason Sabo\, Ph.D. \nJason Sabo earned his Master of Psychology and Doctorate of Psychology from Ball State University. She is a health care leader with a proven track record of developing strong\, collaborative relationships at all levels of a highly complex health care system. Cullen has more than 30 years of experience as a health care provider and a health care administrator. She is committed to leveraging her clinical and leadership experience to help Tampa General Hospital further its commitment to world-class care. In 2021\, Cullen spearheaded TGH’s largest master facility plan in the hospital’s history. This $550 million capital commitment allows TGH to invest in innovation and supports the creation of tomorrow’s TGH. Cullen is leading the development and implementation of the multi-year master facility plan that includes a new ICU\, Regional Burn Center\, freestanding emergency department\, TGH Brandon Healthplex Oncology Institute and more. She is currently a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Florida Hospital Association. \nJustina L. Wells\, MPH \nMs. Justina L. Wells began in her role as the assistant director on November 6\, 2022. Previously\, Ms. Wells served as the chief\, office of communications and outreach for the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System in Gainesville\, Fla. Ms. Wells’ VA career began in in 2011 while completing the Institute for Diversity in Health Management Summer Enrichment Program where she served as an intern at the Birmingham VA Medical Center in Birmingham\, Ala. In 2013\, Ms. Wells completed her administrative fellowship with the Graduate Health Administrative Training Program (GHATP). Ms Wells has also served as a Pathways Intern at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis\, Ind. Ms. Wells earned her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Spelman College and earned her master’s degree in public health with a concentration in health administration from Indiana University. She is a graduate of the 2022 Healthcare Leadership Development Program (HCLDP) class\, the U.S. Office of Personnel Management’s Central Florida Leadership Development Program\, a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority\, and the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). Ms. Wells is also the recipient of the 2021 ACHE VA Regent Early Careerist Award. \nPam Beitlich \nPam Beitlich is the Executive Director of Women and Children’s Services at Sarasota Memorial. She is responsible for Community Outreach/ Childbirth Education\, the OB Emergency Room\, Labor and Delivery\, Mother Baby\, the NICU and Pediatrics. She has been a nurse for over 40 years\, is a Nurse Practitioner\, and completed her Doctorate in Nursing Practice at Florida State. She thoroughly enjoys leading a very high performing team in the Division of Women and Children’s\, and likes to constantly push outcomes to the next level.With over 4\,200 births last year at SMH\, Pam has seen so much growth in our community – not just with older community members but with young families moving here. What a great thing to watch! Her primary focus is on patient safety and quality at the hospital\, and will always advocate for our mothers and babies to receive the highest standard of care. One of her greatest pleasures in the past few years has been watching the First 1000 Days Initiative begin and blossom into an amazing program to serve our community. She finds it very gratifying to ensure our moms and babies are delivered safely at SMH\, and then delivered safely back home with whatever services they need. Pam and her husband Paul have been married for over 37 years\, all of those living in Sarasota. All three of their children were born at SMH\, went to Southside and Pine View\, and love this community. She has strong roots here and wants to continue giving back in whatever way she can contribute.

Graham also served as Assistant Vice President and Deputy Chief of Police at Northwestern University\, the University of Chicago and Duke University Police Department. She began her law enforcement career in her home state of Indiana in 1995. \nGloria earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice studies from North Carolina Wesleyan University and a master’s degree in leadership development from St. Mary of the Woods College. She is a 2012 graduate of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command\, a 2018 graduate of the University of Southern California Race and Equity Institute\, and is an IAHSS Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator and ASIS Certified Protection Professional. He is responsible for the operations and strategy of the health system\, which include: 4 Adult Acute Care Hospitals- totaling 1624 beds\, Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida (172 beds)\, a rehabilitation hospital\, Post-Acute Services- including DME\, SNF\, SNU\, HH\, home infusion\, nursing functions\, patient safety and quality for the system\, Lee Physician Group\, a 1000 provider\, multispecialty group practice; as well as Outpatient Services (lab\, imaging\, wound care\, sleep lab\, rehabilitation services) and The Center for Care Transformation (Medicaid PSN\, NexGen ACO\, BPCI\, CIN)\, and LH Strategy. \n  \nFrank Morgan \nFrank Morgan is the Vice President of Ambulatory Services for Sarasota Memorial Health Care System and oversees the Health System’s extensive network of outpatient campuses and urgent care centers that stretch from Manatee County to North Port. Frank also is responsible for outpatient growth strategy and developing new centers of care to support health needs throughout the region. Frank began his career at SMH in 2002 as an Administrative Fellow. Upon completing the two-year program\, he was selected to serve in a leadership position in Ambulatory Services\, where he assisted in the expansion of the organization’s Ambulatory network while taking on increasing roles and responsibilities. He graduated from the University of Missouri with a Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration in 2002 and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance and also serves as a volunteer youth football and track coach. \n  \nDr. Laura Arline \nDr. Laura Arline is Vice President/Chief Quality Officer of BayCare Health System\, a large not-for-profit healthcare system located in the Tampa Bay region of Florida. Prior to his commission in the Air Force\, he was an analyst for The Joint Commission. \nPaul earned a bachelor degree in Psychology with a minor in Business Administration from DePauw University\, Greencastle\, IN\, a Masters in Health Services Administration from Webster University\, St Louis\, MO a Masters in Strategic Studies from Air University\, Maxwell AFB\, AL. A board-certified member of ACHE since 1992\, he achieved Fellow status in 2005. His Fellows thesis\, Establishing and Sustaining Healthcare Operations in a Contingency: A Logistical Perspective\, was the ACHE Fellows Thesis of the Year. Paul has served the College in multiple roles: Regent\, Chair of the Regents Compliance Committee\, Professional Development Committee\, Counselor Committee\, Regents Advisory Council and Secretary of the Low Country Healthcare Executives. Paul is currently active on the Governing Board of the Air Force Medical Service Corps Association. \n  \nDavid J. VanMeter\, FACHE\, MHA \nDavid VanMeter was appointed as the Chief Operating Officer /Deputy Medical Center Director of the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital and Clinics (JAHVH) in January of 2016. In this capacity he has oversight responsibility for more than 6400 employees\, an annual budget of $2.0B\, and approximately 2 million outpatient visits a year. He leads one of the busiest and most complex medical centers in the federal sector and oversees daily operations of one of the flagship medical centers in the Department of Veteran Affairs. \nHe served as the JAHVH Associate Director from 2013-2016. Prior to his transfer to Tampa\, Mr. VanMeter served as the Assistant Director of the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans’ Hospital in Columbia\, Missouri. He has served VA in various capacities of increasing supervisory and fiscal responsibility for nineteen years and his experience spans diverse operations\, services\, and locations. \nMr. VanMeter is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. He was recognized for his dedication\, response\, and recovery efforts from Hurricane Katrina by the Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs\, and he is the recipient of the 2012 ACHE Federal Sector Award for Federal Excellence in Healthcare Management for Early-Career Healthcare Executives. He is a native son of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and earned a dual degree bachelor’s in business administration and Financial Management from the University of Kentucky Gatton School of Business and a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Kentucky Martin School of Public Policy. Aligning quality of care with the appropriate level of care and services becomes pertinent to healthcare organizations’ bottom line. It is imperative for healthcare leaders to develop programs that offer underserved communities an opportunity for a healthier tomorrow. \nSeveral pioneer organizations have developed population health improvement models such as Accountable Care Organizations that force them to take responsibility for the beneficiaries they are serving. As the acuity of care increases\, healthcare leaders must coordinate equitable care and properly address social determinants of health. The focus is no longer treating patients\, but proactively keeping patients out of the acute healthcare setting and providing care in the community. \nDeveloping population health management into a tangible measure continues to be a challenge for all healthcare organizations across the country. How to properly reduce costs while improving the quality and access of care in communities that lack the resources and education to care for themselves and prevent acute health issues and substantive chronic disease continues to be a major hurdle in population health adoption. \nQualified Education Credits: 1.5 \nAs an independent chartered chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives\, the West Florida Chapter\, is authorized to award a total of 1.5 hours of ACHE Qualified Education credits toward advancement or recertification in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Participants in this program who wish to have it considered for ACHE Qualified Education credit should list their attendance when they apply to the American College of Healthcare Executives for advancement or recertification. \nSpeakers:\nJoseph Santini\, MBA \nJoseph Santini is a driven and compassionate professional with over 20 years of experience in strategic growth and business development. He has used that experience along with his skills in leadership\, ambulatory health care management\, compliance and quality improvement\, to excel in various projects relating to program development\, implementation\, and oversight. Mr. Santini holds both a Master of Business Administration degree and a certificate in Pediatric and Behavioral Health Integration. He has been with Evara Health for 15 years and successfully implemented behavioral health integration into the healthcare setting and was instrumental in launching the Children’s Mental Health Initiative in collaboration with the Juvenile Welfare Board of Pinellas County\, solidifying the direct integration of behavioral health into the pediatric practice. As Evara Health’s Director of Service Lines\, Mr. Santini manages the strategic growth of the Pediatrics\, Women’s Health\, Family Medicine\, Dental\, Pharmacy\, Behavioral Health\, Nutrition\, Chiropractic\, Podiatry and OMT departments. Throughout the years Mr. Santini’s passion for the patient and customer experience has nurtured his use of process improvement to optimize coordination of patient care and services and facilitate his development of effective and unique programs emphasizing wellness and promoting Evara Health as a patient centered medical home. Besides changing lives in the community professionally\, Mr. Santini has also spent the last 20 years volunteering and serving as a Board Member and/or Chair of several community service organizations throughout Pinellas County. \nKatie Rodgers Turner\, MPH \nKatie Roders Turner is the Executive Director of the Family Healthcare Foundation. They are honored to lead a skilled and experienced team of Healthcare Navigators who are committed to enrolling Tampa Bay residents into healthcare coverage programs\, improving healthcare literacy\, and mobilizing community partners. These services are provided to increase equitable access to high-quality healthcare and reduce health disparities in Tampa Bay. Katie has deep-end knowledge on programmatic and fiscal trends in health and human services at the federal\, state\, and local levels after serving in the public and non-profit sectors for 15 years. In every new role or experience\, Katie maintains a passion for access to high quality and affordable health care for Tampa Bay individuals and families. Katie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master’s in Public Health from the University of South Florida and has a demonstrated commitment to community service. They are a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Kazakhstan\, 2007-2009)\, an alumna of the Global Health Fellows Program with USAID (2011) and Americorps (2005). They have been featured on National Public Radio\, CNN\, and ABC Action News in Tampa Bay on behalf of The Family Healthcare Foundation. \nDr. Nicole Gilg Gachiani\, MD\, MPH\, CPE\, FAAFP \nDr. Nicole Gilg Gachiani is Director of Quality & Safety at BayCare Medical Group. In her role\, she is responsible for defining and implementing the strategy of the quality\, safety\, and population health programs for the medical group’s 170+ clinics. \nDr. Gilg has over 10 years of clinical practice and medical leadership experience. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians\, a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality\, a Certified Physician Executive\, and a former Fellow of the Federation of State Medical Boards. She has also held academic appointments at the University of Iowa Medical School and Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. \nDr. Gilg is a proud graduate of the University of Notre Dame after which she obtained her medical degree and master’s in public health from Tulane University. She completed her family medicine residency in Los Angeles at UCLA-Harbor Medical Center. \nEthan Chernin\, MBA\, MPH \nEthan Chernin\, MBA\, MPH has spent all 15 years of his Healthcare experience specializing in value-based care. Having started in President Obama’s administration as one of the first\, non-nominated\, employees of the CMS Innovation Center (CMMI); Ethan remains one of the nation’s experts in the value-based care. \nEthan is currently the Chief Population Health Officer and Senior Vice President of Provider Services for Healthmap Solutions. Ethan is responsible for leading Healthmap’s provider engagement strategies\, innovative provider partnerships and building useful tools that address the health needs of individuals by combining data and evidence-based best practices. \nPrior to joining Healthmap\, Ethan was Vice President of Population Health for BayCare Health System and Chief Operating Officer of BayCare Physician Partners (BPP). He was BayCare Health System’s senior executive responsible for population health initiatives\, value-based care contracts and population health analytics. BPP managed over 250\,000 lives\, 2\,500 physicians and a medical spend of over $2B. \nPrior to joining BayCare Health System in 2014\, Ethan held executive population health positions at both the Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals – Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland\, Ohio. Ethan was successful in creating one of the nations first capitated pediatric accountable care organizations with the State of Ohio. He was one of the original employees of the Cleveland Clinic’s Center of Excellence program that works with companies to develop innovative solutions that provide their employees with high-quality healthcare while also managing costs through bundled payment and other value-based care arrangements. \nOver the past 15 years\, Ethan has had responsibility for managing over 1 million value-based care lives across Commercial\, Medicare and Medicaid lines of business. \nMr. Chernin earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor\, MI and a Master’s of Business Administration from the Weatherhead Graduate School of Management at Case Western University and a Master’s of Public Health from the Case School of Medicine.
