Event Description

Unexpected events, such as a natural disaster, pandemic, civil disturbance, medical error, or labor dispute, cause intense stresses that can overwhelm healthcare organizations and leaders. In the event of a crisis, the quality and efficiency of care delivery may be challenged, which takes a toll on every part of the organization. Healthcare leaders must understand how to prepare their organization for unforeseen circumstances by developing a communication plan, managing organizational resources, and leveraging local and state resources and funding.
